A2 is a CNN exclusive news channel affiliate headquartered in a major production center in Tirana.
A2 aims at raising the standards’ bar in the Albanian news and information delivery by changing the media reality and offering a fast, accurate and credible news source.
The channel will feature the latest technology in the media sector and it will rely on CNN’s expertise in training and developing its professional team.
A2, CNN exclusive news channel affiliate, is looking for both experienced professionals and talented youngsters, who are eager to learn and show highest integrity.
We are looking for an experienced professional with a technical background and qualifications:
A “Technical director/Chief technology officer (CTO)” is an entrepreneurial individual who provides strategic and tactical leadership A2 CNN media and information technology, broadcast and digital distribution, engineering, facilities and infrastructure services.
Reporting to the A2 CNN's CEO s/he is a key member of the senior leadership team, championing the mission and developing a vision to use technology to enable the A2 CNN to grow and fulfill that mission. S/he is on top of the leading media technologies and has a firm understanding of the range of technology needed- from broadcast to online.
Fluent Bilingual (spoken and written) in Albanian and English.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To make all executive decisions with regards to the technological interests of A2 CNN,
- To be responsible for outlining the company's technological vision, implementing technology strategies, and ensuring that the technological resources are aligned with the company's business needs,
- To be responsible for the strategy, planning, management and overall supervision of IT & Enterprise Systems, Media Engineering, Systems Engineering & Integration and Facility Management,
- To ensure the highest possible technical quality of content including on air, programs, streams, apps and other services,
- To ensure that all technology operations-from transmitters to IT-are strategically and operationally aligned and is responsible for ensuring that all systems and data are secured to the highest standards,
- To work with A2 CNN technology-related and production related departments on systems, procedures and protocols where applicable,
- To be responsible for the seamless delivery of content in compliance with current standards and other applicable laws and policies,
- To make executive decisions on behalf of the company's technological requirements,
- To stay on top of technology trends and developments,
- To ensure all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards,
- To maintain current knowledge of technology landscape and developments, with attention to media-relevant information,
- To conduct research to improve the technological assets of a company,
- To identify competitive advantages and technological trends for the benefit of the company,
- To consolidate our technology platforms and create plans for each,
- To work with other departments to use new technologies to streamline company policies and rules,
- To track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics,
- To ensure that the technological resources meet the company's short and long-term needs,
- To create timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services,
- To take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity,
- To effectively lead, manage and inspire the technology team as well as external contractors,
- To represent the technological agenda in staff meetings,
- To hire and lead technical and production staff, distribute orders and responsibilities in departments,
- To develop and implement yearly technology strategy and plans and reports,
- To recommend new technologies based on current installation keeping high level of integration and interoperability between different systems,
- To focus on new IT and IP technologies,
- To oversee implementation of all technical aspects of A2 CNN,
- To constantly work and develop organizational chart and operational workflows,
- To actively develop, inspire and use best efforts to retain top technical talent within A2 CNN.
- To recommend proper and selected trainings to keep high level of knowledge for technical and production staff of A2 CNN,
- To manage and lead Broadcast Engineers, Broadcast IT Engineers, PCR and MCR staff, both technical and creative, Camera Operators, Graphics Designers and Video Editors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Engineer, Electronics, IT/Computer Science or Telecommunication or a related field,
- At least 4 years managerial experience,
- At least 8 years television experience,
- Advanced technological skill set and a demonstrated history with technology,
- Advanced IT Knowledge, Technological Analysis, Team Building skills, Industry Knowledge,
- In-depth understanding of the production process, MAM, PAM and GAM systems, automated workflows, cable and terrestrial delivery of program, streaming services, video and audio digital systems, hd program production, automated channel play out, transcoding, video and audio compressions, news production, tv system architecture, open and close subtitling, multiplatform delivery, audio and video processing,
- Hands on experience with complex project management,
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills,
- Effective negotiation and vendor management skills,
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills,
- Proactive problem solver,
