Graphic Designer

1. JOB PURPOSE:
Graphic designers will create visual text and imagery concepts, by hand or using computer software, to
communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers.
They will develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, magazines, and
corporate reports, etc.
Graphic Designers will design (or create) graphics to meet specific commercial or promotional needs, such
as packaging, displays, logos, or imagery for print and digital uses including banner ads, social media posts,
website graphics, magazine advertorials, etc. They will use a variety of mediums to achieve artistic or
decorative effects and often select the type, font, size, color, and line length of headlines, headings, and
text.
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Accountabilities:
Examine existing processes, identify opportunities, and create solutions that improve design
capabilities
Manage cross functional alignment on requirements, timelines & budget
Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with internal & external stakeholders on a wide range of
needed assets [including but not limited to web designs, social media, launch rollouts, presentations,
programming collaterals, signage, internal communications, newsletters...etc.]
Develop end-to-end design briefs from typesetting to graphic design, print and production
Conceptualize visuals and proposals via storytelling [inception to implementation], rationalizing the
thought process behind the designs
Continuous skill development on new software and design trends
Ensure that designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations
Effectively build, motivate, and direct design and production teams
3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Essential:
Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
Five or more years of experience (academic and professional) with design software, including
Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver
Good communication and presentation skills
Organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced agile environment
Desire to continue building skill set
Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software
