Job Description

Become a Doping Control Officer!

IDTM is seeking persons who would like to work as doping control officers (DCO). DCOs are responsible for organising an anti-doping mission, travelling to testing locations, collecting a urine/blood sample, recording the sample collection, and shipping the samples to a WADA accredited or approved laboratory.

Being a certified blood collector/phlebotomist is considered an advantage.

Knowledge and experience in anti-doping testing are not required but the willingness to learn new skills is a must. The candidate must be willing to go through theoretical and practical training courses to become a certified DCO according to international standards. This will be provided free of charge by IDTM.

The DCO position is a contract based, on demand job. The DCO should be willing and able to travel, as well as have a flexible schedule. The amount of doping control assignments can vary greatly from month to month.

Requirements

The basic requirement is a minimum age of 21 years, the ability to travel and general interest in sports. The DCO should speak and write fluent English. A DCO should be: a problem solver, able to cope with stress, trustworthy, precise, a person with leadership skills, i.e. polite and friendly, yet assertive.
